At Forkas Home Team, we believe that home is more than just a place—it’s a feeling, a memory, and a legacy. That’s why giving back to causes that help preserve those precious moments is close to our hearts. This month, we’re honored to highlight the Alzheimer’s Association, a nonprofit leading the fight to end Alzheimer’s and all other forms of dementia.
The Impact of Alzheimer’s Disease
Alzheimer’s disease affects millions of individuals and their families, causing memory loss, cognitive decline, and emotional distress. It is the most common cause of dementia, and with no known cure, its impact continues to grow. The Alzheimer’s Association is at the forefront of the fight against this disease, funding critical research and offering support programs for patients and caregivers alike.
Why It Matters
More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's. For many families, including some of our own clients and team members, this is more than just a statistic—it’s a deeply personal journey. The Alzheimer’s Association not only funds groundbreaking research but also provides essential support for caregivers, patients, and their loved ones navigating life with this disease.
How the Alzheimer’s Association Helps
The Alzheimer’s Association provides a variety of services, including:
24/7 Helpline – A lifeline for families in need of guidance and support.
Local Support Groups – Offering connection and shared experiences for caregivers and individuals affected by the disease.
Educational Programs – Informing communities about early detection, treatment options, and caregiving strategies.
Funding Research – Advancing scientific discoveries to one day find a cure for Alzheimer’s.
YOUR REFERRALS REALLY DO HELP THE COMMUNITY!
Giving back to our community is our goal whenever we buy and sell real estate.
Every year we donate a portion of our income from real estate transactions to worthy cause organizations we support just like the Alzheimer’s Association
Please take a moment to learn about one of the charities that has touched our lives.

Thanks to what seems like fate, I'm proud to say I work with this great organization and plan to continue until there is a cure.
Why I Walk: William’s Story

William's journey with Alzheimer’s began when his grandfather passed away in 2001 from what was then called “senility.” Years later, he realized dementia had affected multiple family members, including both maternal grandparents. As a financial advisor at Edward Jones, he helps families facing similar challenges—and when his company partnered with the Alzheimer’s Association, he felt called to act. William now volunteers for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, helping raise awareness and funds, all while honoring his family’s story and supporting the fight for a cure. Read the full story here.
